Jiri Mokry
The Czech cellist and composer Jiri Mokry was born in 1892 in Prague. He studied at the Prague Conservatory (1906-1912), was a member of the Czech Philharmonic (1912-1914), after military service in World War I a member of the orchestra of the National Theatre in Prague (1919), then in the orchestra of the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava, further the East Bohemian Theatre in Pardubice (1929). He managed his own music school in Prague (1930-1949). He wrote works for cello (including a concert), serenades, student concerts, about 100 pieces for violin and piano, and also songs and choruses.
